If you don't already have a Web site where you want to store your albums, you might want to consider getting a free Web site from one of several outfits that will give you one in exchange for a certain degree of commercial intrusion, mainly for those who view your sites. The nature of this intrusion ranges from a relatively discreet banner at the top of each page to rather annoying popup-windows that show up every time a page is refreshed.
If you're not sure, try out one of these sites to see if you like any of them. You can always elect not to use one you've signed up for—after all, they are free.
For each site listed below, some information, such as the FTP server name, is built-into the Albumatic FTP Connection dialog. You'll need to supply your own login and password, which you usually get via email after you've registered. Then, to access the albums you upload you'll need the URL for the album. This varies with each hosting site, but you can use the examples below as models.
The information here applies only to Albumatic versions 1.07 or greater. If yours is too old, click here for a newer one.

To register: angelfire.lycos.com
Albumatic sample: www.angelfire.com/co4/albumatic/Albums/NOAA_Album/index.htm

When you create your site, you need to supply a directory name (e.g., co4/albumatic) that also serves as your FTP login name. It's also incorporated into the album URL, as in the example above. Note also that the URL must end with "index.htm".
(NBCi includes what was formerly called Xoom. If you already have a Xoom site, it probably will continue to work.)

These sites don't work well, if at all, mainly because of FTP difficulties. This is not to say that they aren't excellent sites for other reasons. They just aren't compatible with Albumatic.

This is www.aol.com, which offers free home pages, not the AOL service for paying members. FTP is only for AOL members (even for the free pages), but there are too many restrictions on file types for Albumatic to work.
